About the Glassboro Historical Society

The Glassboro Historical Society is a friendly community-based group of regular folks interested in preserving the history of Glassboro, New Jersey, for future generations. Our organization strives to build awareness of Glassboro’s rich cultural and historical heritage, including agriculture, creative arts, education, entrepreneurialism, volunteerism, and glassmaking.

As a community organization, we host educational and social events and a variety of exciting monthly exhibits. We also work to research topics related to Glassboro, and publish and promote books and cultural activities related to Glassboro’s community, culture, and history.

Through unique partnerships, such as with the Rowan University Libraries Digital Scholarship Center and Rowan University’s Cultural Geography Honors program, we explore and develop new research.

Through grants, fundraising, and partnerships we create projects that celebrate, document, and preserve Glassboro’s past so that we can better understand our present and future. This work includes the Glassboro Memory Mapping Project.

The Glassboro Historical Society meets at 7 pm on the 4th Thursday of each month at the West Jersey Depot (Historic Train Station) 354 Oakwood Ave, Glassboro, NJ.

Please come out and explore! All are welcome!
